As this year comes to a close, it’s time to reflect on what a killer year we’ve had. The Curtains For You family would like to thank all of those who have helped us to make 2012 a year to remember. It was a blast playing for so many music lovers both here in our lovely home of Seattle, and in all the other cities we toured in. Heck, we even made it up to Vancouver, BC for some “international” shenanigans.
What’s next? Well, we are currently writing and arranging our next record, and are hoping to have it finished in 2013. Aside from that, we’ll be adding more shows as they come along. We are super excited about our first show of the year with our buddy,
Ken Stringfellow, alongside
The Maldives. That’s on February 1st, and will be at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle. Tickets
here.
Have a happy merry whatever you do this time of year!

We had a few incredible shows with The Head and the Heart over the past week to kick off their Fall tour. First up was a very intimate acoustic show in Wenatchee where smoke from the surrounding forest fires filled the air outside a packed Cafe Mela. Next was an impossible-to-put-into-words show at a sold-out Paramount Theater in downtown Seattle on Saturday night, and then another amazing night at Spokane’s Knitting Factory. A million thanks to The Head and The Heart and to the very awesome folks who came out to the shows!
Next up, we’ll be playing this coming Saturday September 22nd at Barboza on Capitol Hill opening for Ages and Ages. Come on out and hang with us!

Here’s a

We’re closing in on the end of the year here in Curtains land and with this newfound Autumnal wrapping-up-of-things comes a couple of very nice reviews. First up is one from
Georgetown Radio who has this, among other things to say…
“Fifty seconds into the second track of After Nights Without Sleep, Seattle pop quintet Curtains For You‘s newest release, lead singer Matt Gervais belts the song’s title: “What good am I to you now?”, and the band follows up with a vibrant guitar interlude that makes you bounce in your chair. All of this captures the what makes After Nights Without Sleep so good: catchy music with a smart edge.”
Secondly, more
nice words came from Cody Jones at Zaptown Magazine. Thanks so much to both of these fine publications for the friendly reviews.
Lastly, a very big thanks goes to Jodi Brothers from KJR who spun Daisy on her program and promoted the big Posies show forthcoming. We’ll be seeing everyone very soon…

November is here, which means we’re rapidly approaching our upcoming stint with our pals, and power-pop legends, The Posies.
First up is a trip to the Doug Fir in Portland on the 17th where we’ll join old-friends Derby as openers for The Posies, who’ll be playing Frosting On The Beater in its entirety. Get tix for this

Then we’ll head up to Seattle on the 19th for a show at the Neptune Theater, which has recently been re-opened as an amazing music venue. This might actually be our biggest show to date, so we’d love to have you there to join us. Get your tix for this show
